Jennifer’s photography is getting really good.. a few weeks ago we went to Carlton College’s graduation ceremony for 2006, to watch our cousin Rachel graduate. This is a cool one she took of the mass of chairs for all the students. You can see the rest of the public pictures she’s uploaded so far by clicking on it.

The power of blogs
Scoble always talks about the power of blogs, how they can change the world. Here’s one example.
Becca Sanders is over in Africa right now for 7 weeks, and she’s blogging. She is the daughter of the pastor of the church I volunteer at, and she’s on a mission.
She’s given the 1400 folks or so that go to LGPC a look inside a mission, pictures, thoughts, day to day activities.. pretty awesome stuff.. it makes me want to go to Africa.. seven weeks, I don’t know.. but 2 weeks, sure.
Road Trip To McMinnville
Tonight after Jennifer’s 2 hour nap, we decided to go out for dinner.. instead of Rose’s deli in Sherwood, we decided to drive out to McMenamins in McMinnville. Turns out there was a cool jazz duo playing downstairs in the “Cellar”, and they were good. I love impromptu ideas like this! It would have been great to drag out a couple friend with us.. maybe next time!!
NHL – Down to one
I’ve been enjoying watching Edmonton and Carolina play in the NHL Finals.. the fans in Edmonton have been awesome, with their silver pompoms going in the air.. I can feel the energy way down here in Portland. The “We want the cup” chant gave me goose-bumps.
It’s down to one game, Monday night on NBC, 5pm pacific. Watch it. If you are in portland and want to drop by, leave a comment.
Update: Ya, great game, but Edmonton lost. The awesome reaction by the Carolina players made up for the loss though, I was happy Carolina won after seeing that.
New Media can make you famous
Wil Wheaton wrote a weblog entry today about his comments on the RIAA sending cease and desist letters to youth who make videos to songs and upload them to various sites like You Tube or Google Video.
A great read.. the thing that shocked me though was this video that Wil points to. If you go to YouTube itself, these two teenagers have been viewed almost 6 million times. That’s television episode numbers. And Wils’ point it good, this is a ton of free publicity for the Pixies.
I know youth who have made some really amazing videos – birthday videos to different people. Very funny – I’d hate to see them get silly letters from lawyers trying to protect record companies.
Heard in the development chatroom just now…
