Want to work at Intuit in the Mac Group?

Well, due to some reorganization in my group last week, we have 2 Project management type positions open. If you think you’ve got some or all of these skills, and are a good people person, leave a comment with your email address, and I’ll drop you an email, we can chat. :-)

These positions are based in Mountain View, CA. The one below is for QuickBooks for the Mac, but there is an almost identical position open for Quicken for the Mac.

(the only difference between the two is this line:

Experience with small business, financial, or payroll products or services is a plus

changes to this:

Experience with consumer finance or online banking services is a plus

Role: Software development manager responsible for the development and quality of the QuickBooks for Mac product. Provide leadership to a product development team to meet short-term and long-term product and business objectives.

Primary responsibilities:
- Manage successful development of QuickBooks for Mac product, directly managing a team of software and QA engineers.
- Responsible for ensuring all deliverables are high quality. Quality is defined as delivering an excellent end-to-end customer experience that meets business and technical requirements. - Responsible for delivering large projects within budget, resource plan, and schedule.
- Collaborate effectively with product management, marketing, technical support, and other cross-functional teams to deliver products that meet customer and business objectives.
- Work with development counterparts across Intuit to leverage technical architecture, code base and learnings where appropriate.
- Provide input on product strategy and roadmaps. Develop multi-year development roadmaps.  

Qualifications:
- Extensive experience leading and delivering large, complex software projects through the complete software development and QA process. Experience with consumer or shrink-wrapped software is preferred.
- Experience in developing for Unix or Mac OS X is preferred.
- Very strong project management skills for task definition and assignment, resource planning, scheduling, scope management, milestone tracking, risk assessment and mitigation. - Excellent people management skills including team building, motivating, recruiting, evaluating performance, and coaching.
- Effective at recognizing needed process improvements and driving changes in the development process. Familiar with various development process approaches.
- Exercises excellent judgment that balances tradeoff decisions and the needs of the three key stake-holders, employees, customers, and shareholders, across the short-term and long-term.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with both technical and non-technical audiences. Operates effectively in an open, collaborative environment.
- Experience managing software contractors and/or offshore development firms is desired. - Experience with small business, financial, or payroll products or services is a plus.
- Direct experience in developing software using C, C++, object-oriented technologies, source code management, and debugging tools.
- Familiar with product quality validation techniques including unit tests, acceptance tests, black-box testing and usability testing.
- Ten (10) plus years of relevant professional experience, including minimum of three (3) years managing a team.
- B.S. Computer Science or equivalent.
